ABOUT

Meet the artist

From childhood, colored pencils and paint filled me with happiness.  My training in Fine Arts led me to study great masters such as Rembrandt, Fantin-Latour, John  Singer Sargent, William  Bouguereau and Jean-Baptiste Siméon Chardin. It was for me the start of a great adventure that led me to discover a fascinating world.

My artistic approach ...

The creation of my works always has as a starting point an object that fascinates me or moves me.  I build my subject around this object and I make several sketches until the composition touches me. My subject, as well as the emotion that I want to create in the observer, determine the type of medium I use (oil, dry pastel or charcoal).  Currently, my heart swings between oil and dry pastel.  Its powdery texture and velvety effect appealed to me, as did the lack of drying time. As for the oil, it allows texture effects impossible to obtain with dry pastel.

My sources of inspiration are varied, but my goal always remains the same: to highlight the beauty of the objects around me. I create from everyday objects, photographs that I have taken over time, or even, according to specific requests that are submitted to me.

My approach consists of developing a few sketches, then choosing a color palette that will highlight my subject.  Subsequently, if my choice stops on the dry pastel, I choose the type of paper that I will use as well as the color of the latter according to the effect that I am looking for.  to produce.  When it comes to orders, preparatory sketches are presented to the client and once his choice has been made, I proceed to the execution of the work.  Once the work is finished, the  client is met and adjustments are made as needed.

I explore all subjects, but currently it's still life and portraiture that inspire me the most.  They require a mastery of drawing which is a constant challenge that stimulates me enormously.
